Family Update

The last couple weeks have been amazing! I have been able to see my youngest boy (whom I haven"t seen in about 5 or 6 years) and we got some new additions to the flock. Plus my garden is really starting to do great.

We had the pleasure of having my youngest, Tj, out to the house this weekend. Since he was here we carved the pumpkin for Samhain. This is a tradition we haven"t been able to do for many years. Well at least not with him. So this weekend was a very special one indeed. Looking at the pictures you can really see the concentration going Now I just need to get all 4 of my kids together for family pictures again.

Late last week, we went and picked up this handsome man for the ladies here at the house. This is Tigger because he of the stripes he looks a bit like a tiger. So Kira named him Tigger. He is a big man and taking over the flock quite nicely. Of course Red was not too happy to be knocked out of the role of the dominate hen in the yard. She is slowly adjusting though.

A few weeks ago we got the ladies pictured below. They lay a very small green egg. My husband, Aarron says they are better than the regular eggs, but I haven"t noticed a difference really.

This election has been awful. I really don"t want either candidate to win. So, with that in mind, I sent my early ballot in to make sure that my voice is heard, even if it just a small voice....

Finally, my garden is really starting to take off.

My pumpkin plants are taking off and I am hoping that I will have fresh pumpkin for the pumpkin pies and the pumpkin bread at Yule.

I have 3 tomato plants that are flowering and I actually have 4 tomatoes growing! Last time I tried to grow tomatoes I couldn"t even get them to flower. With the greenhouse though it"s going much better this time. I am so thankful that my hubby got this for me and put it together.

Have a great day!
