Garden Progress

So last month we planted the garden in the yard. So far it's really looking good. This garden is set up to provide food for both us and the animals. From the looks of it, I am going to be doing a lot of canning in a couple months.

This picture only shows one side. You can see the corn and buckwheat coming up nicely. In this area is also beans, squash and lettuce.

This shot shows the whole garden. It is huge! Aarron planted so much in here it should keep us going for the year to come. Of course, once it's time to harvest, the real work will begin to make sure that we have this food to last through the coming year.

You can see it's all coming up nicely. I can't wait to see how it will look next month around this time. I look forward to keep ya'll updated on how it's doing.

Have a great day!

With this virus going around, I am one those grandma's that cannot see their grand babies right now.  For me this is very hard, I am used to having them around all the time. Right now, it seems they are spread across the globe. I have 3 in South Korea at the moment, 1 in Tucson, and 1 one is Colorado.

This one had a birthday last month and we weren't able to see her other than on video chat. I guess it's nice that we have that at least. Once upon a time, that wouldn't have even been an option.

This one is so close yet so far away. I did get to see him a few weeks ago, but because we care for my dad, I wasn't able to snuggle with him when he came out. He is growing so fast. He's only a year old, but he is looking more and more like a little boy rather than a toddler now.

So, to take our minds off of not have the grand kids around, hubby and I have working the land and taking care of the animals to make sure that all is good here when they are able to come back around again. It just seems like right now, that isn't going to happen any time soon.

Is anyone else having a hard time not being able to see your kids or grand kids?

Have a great day!

Goat Kids

So Astra had her babies in March. They are growing so fast. I am loving every day with them though.

Butterscotch, pictured above, has quite the personality. She loves to jump and climb on anything and everything she can. When  I come outside, she starts yelling at me until I go to the fence to give her some love. The coloring on this girl is so different from what I have ever seen before. I wish I could get some better pictures to show her coloring better. She is white with cream spots on her.

Lilly is a little more reserved of the two. She loves to play on the swing. She will actually get herself on the swing and swing back and forth. When she is done she will jump over the swing to get off of it. Her attitude is very sweet. She enjoys getting love and will come to the fence anytime I get near to it.

These two girls are completely different. One is rambunctious while the other is more reserved. One calls for her attention while the other waits until I come to her. I'm pretty sure that they are going to be a pleasure to watch grow.

Have a great day!

Greenhouse Progress

I wrote last month about planting the greenhouse for the coming summer months to grow our own veggies and herbs. I have to say that I am pleased with the progress we are making. I already have a few things that I am going to have to gather. So all in all, I think this is going to be a good year.

The picture above shows the basil and thyme that are coming along nicely. Above the thyme is dill which is about ready to harvest.

This picture shows the Arugula, dill, parsley and lavender. I'm not sure how well the lavender is going to do yet. It's not looking like it's going to come up well. But you can see the Arugula and parsley are doing great and ready to harvest.

This picture shows the grape vine. It has taken off this year! I can't wait to see how many grapes we get from this.

This one shows the cucumber and tomato plants. The cucumber is doing well, and the tomato plants are just starting to come up. I am hopeful that we will get tomatoes this year.

These are the pumpkin plants. They are really starting to grow now. I can't wait to make fresh pumpkin pie and pumpkin bread this year.

This one shows the spinach and cilantro. Both are starting to come in now. Have you ever had fresh spinach? It's amazing! I would love to know if you have a garden this year and how it's doing. Leave me a comment below and let me know.

Have a great day!

I am a total fan of Aloe Vera gel. I use it every summer when I get sunburned or just on dry skin. This is good stuff and totally natural.

Aloe Vera is in so many different things because it is so good for you. Both inside and outside of the body, Aloe does good things. It's soothing for burns and dry skin. It's supposed to be good for digestion and other body functions. It's just all around good stuff.

Of course you have to get natural aloe vera without all the additives for it to be really effective. Which is why I love this brand. The aloe is 100% natural and it's made in the USA. What could be better than that?

I would love to hear your uses for aloe vera. Do you use it only on burns or do you have other uses that you do? Leave me a comment below and let me know your uses.

Have a great day!

Microfiber Duster

This post may contain affiliate links. This means if you make a purchase, I will receive a small commission at no cost to you. To see my full disclosure click here.

I have been looking for a duster that I could use to get the ceiling fan with and I finally found it!

This duster is microfiber, so it picks up everything. I have needed something with a long handle so I could reach the corners of the ceiling and the ceiling fan with. This handle is long and it will go longer so it should work with the vaulted ceilings too.

I've never been a big fan of microfiber, but this one works really well. I love how easy it is to use as well. The duster part of this is bendable so you can position in just about any way that you might need to in order to get whatever it is that you need to dust.

The way this is put together it allows the fibers to grab the dirt and dust without letting it go. This duster works very well and cleans up easily. I usually just take it outside and shake it really well to get everything out of it. The handle is a twist lock handle so it's easy to make the handle longer or shorter if you need to. Just twist the handle and pull to lengthen it or push to shorten from the longer pole.
